On Tuesday morning, an Indian Air Force MiG-27UPG on a morning sortie crashed near a village in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The pilot ejected safely with only minor injuries.
The single-seater ground attack aircraft took off from the Jodhpur Air Force Station and the aircraft crashed in the Banad area. The aircraft was totally destroyed and fully engulfed in flames. The pilot ejected just moments before the crash, and was rescued by the villagers.
An IAF helicopter was also deployed in the area to transport the pilot to the hospital where his treatment is ongoing.
IAF has also ordered a Court of Inquiry to ascertain the reason of crash.
