Eight militants killed by security forces in Kashmir

In a single day before the Panchayat Polls, security forces gunned down eight militants in Kashmir on Thursday. The militants were gunned down in three separate encounter operations.

The operations were conducted in Jijhar, Sopore and in Keran Sector along the Line of Control (LOC). Three militants were killed in Jijhar, two were killed in Sapore, and three along the LOC in Keran Sector.

The militants who were trying to sneak into the LOC were warned by the Jammu and Kashmir rifles, but they ignored and started firing. Later, all three were gunned down.

About 12 Security Forces Jawans were also injured during the operations. All are safe now and out of danger.
