India successfully test fired Mango Tank Shells from the T-72 and T-90 Main Battle Tanks. The shells are of Russian origin and are made to be fired from 125mm caliber tank guns.
In 2015, India got the license from Tecumseh, a Rostec group company to manufacture Mango Shells in India itself under “Make in India” initiative. The first batch of shells is cleared for operational use by the Indian Army.
During the test, it hit the target precisely and achieved all the set parameters. The Mango shell is a feathered armor-piercing projectile that can penetrate any armor.
