Security forces gunned down five militants in Kashmir

In a series of encounter operations, security forces gunned down five militants in Shopian, Kashmir on Saturday. The militants were from the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group.

During the gunfight, the clashes started near the encounter to disrupt the operation, but forces kept utmost resistance and successfully gunned down five militants. During the clashes, one civilian was killed. “One militant was killed on Friday night while four more bodies were recovered today in the morning,” said Defense spokesman Rajesh Kalia.

Additionally, four militants were also killed a day before in the nearby village, marking a total of nine militants killed in less than 62 hours.
