In back-to-back successful encounter operations, security forces on Wednesday gunned down 4 militants in Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir. One trooper was also injured and is in the hospital where he is being treated.

The encounter took place in the Ladoora forest area in the morning. The forces received specific inputs regarding the movement of militants, so a special operation was launched to hunt them down. The militants were from Al Qaeda-linked Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH) militant outfit.

“The SF team was specially inserted in the area of operations,” said an Army spokesperson.

The operation was conducted by Army’s Kilo Force, Special Forces (SF) and 32 Rashtriya Rifles.
