Indian Navy’s ambitious project “The Missile Tracking Vessel” will be ready by the end of 2018. The vessel will be part of India’s Missile Shield system.
The vessel is built by National Technical Research Organization (NTRO) in Visakhapatnam. It is named as VC11184. The development of the vessel was started in 2014 and is about to get completed after that it will have to go through extensive sea trials.
It will be employed for the role of tracking any possible airborne threat, which includes long-range ballistic missiles, bomber and other high-value airborne threats. It is packed with three large dome-shaped antennas packed with sensors.
