On Thursday, security forces in Chhattisgarh gunned down at least 7 Naxals in an encounter operation. The encounter took place during morning hours in Bastar, south Chhattisgarh, which is a Naxal hit area.
Officials received information regarding the presence of the Naxals along the bordering areas of Timinar and Pusanar, which is located 400km from Capital Raipur. An operation was launched by a joint team of Special Task Force (STF) and District Reserve Guards (DRG).
The seven Naxals included three women Naxalites who were gunned down in the encounter operation.
From the encounter site, a cache of weapons was also recovered, which included two INSAS rifles, two .303 rifles, a few muzzle loading weapons and other weapons.
