Tejas to be based in Sulur airbase

June 01, 2018

The Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas of the No-45 Squadron, which was based in Bengaluru, will now be shifted to Sulur Airforce Station in Tamil Naidu.

The Tejas was inducted into the Air Force on 2016 July in No-45 Squadron also known as “The flying daggers.” Initially, the squadron got only a few aircraft and was based in Banglore only as it was a new aircraft so rectifying them was easy.

Now, the squadron has enough aircraft but are yet be a full-fledged squadron, though the squadron got enough expertise and can handle aircraft-related issues on their own.

The departure from the base is also being marked as a major milestone for as the indigenous Tejas which will operate on its own from the Sulur Airforce Station.
