On Tuesday, India handed over a second DO-228 to Seychelles. A handing ceremony was organized where Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj handed over the key of the second DO-228 aircraft to Seychelles President Danny Faure.

In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to gift one Dornier aircraft to Seychelles for enhanced surveillance.

“To enhance the surveillance capability of Seychelles to tackle maritime threats, our Prime Minister had announced the gifting of a second Dornier aircraft during his landmark visit to Seychelles in March 2015.”- Sushma Swaraj.

The Dornier aircraft is manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) under a production license from Dornier GmbH Company of Brazil.

Seychelles President Danny Faure is on an official visit to India. During his visit, many pacts were finalized including the building of a Naval base.
