In a tragic incident on Tuesday morning, a senior ranking pilot officer Air Commodore Sanjai Chauhan was killed in a Jaguar crash near Jamnagar. The incident took place at around 10:30 am in the Mundra Taluk which is located in the northwestern Gujarat region.
As per reports, Air Commodore Sanjai Chauhan took off from Jamnagar Airbase and was on a training sortie, but after a few minutes it was reported that the aircraft crashed in a village outskirt and the pilot failed to eject from the aircraft and suffered fatal injuries.
The pilot was the AOC of the airbase and was a test pilot as well. He also commanded the 14 Squadron “The Fighting Bulls” Jaguar unit in Ambala.
