In a recent interview to The Week, the Chief of Air Staff B.S. Dhanoa has said that the delivery of the Dassault Rafale will be commenced in September 2019 and the full delivery of 36 Rafale’s will be completed by 2022.
Ambassador of France Alexandre Ziegler said that the training of Indian pilots on the Rafale will also start soon.
Meanwhile, France is also looking to get further orders from the Air Force for the Rafale. If speculations are made, the Indian Air Force will first evaluate the aircraft in Indian conditions and perform as per the expectations, then the IAF may order more. India just can’t place a huge order for a single aircraft in one go as the budget doesn’t cater them to do so.
