India’s premier Indian Space Research and Organisation has received more than Rs 10,000 crore from the government for the continuation of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark-III projects.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The money has been allocated for 30 PSLV operational flights. Besides this, the cabinet also approved the fund allocation for the GSLV Mark-III which includes the launch of 10 GSLV (Mk-III) flights.
The PSLV rockets are the frontline launch vehicle of the ISRO and fall heavyweight category. The PSLV has made India self-reliant by enabling India to launch heavy satellites for disaster management, navigation and earth observation satellites.
