Indian Navy kilo class submarine INS Sindhukesari has finally completed its second refit and has now been rolled out at Severodvinsk, Russia.
The new refits extend ten more years of the submarine which is currently specified to 25 years service life and is now upgraded with many modern techs. It is also the first Indian naval submarine whose service life will be more than 35 years.
This time, a large amount of Indian equipment was also installed in the submarine which reduced the costing of the overhaul. Additionally, its fighting capabilities have also been improved.
Most of the Indian Navy submarines are of Kilo class and almost half of them need refits.
