The Indian Air Force is now all set to welcome another woman in its fleet of female fighter pilots. Recently flying cadet Meghana Shanbough was commissioned into the Indian Air Force as a flying officer.
Flying officer Meghana Shanbough hails from Chikmanglur in Karnataka. She will undergo training in Kiran aircraft and Hawks and then will join operational units.
Along with her, 113 more cadets were inducted into the Air Force in various branches but she is the only female selected for the fighter stream this time. Last time, 3 women were commissioned into the fighter stream but one suffered injuries during ejection and was grounded. The other two are currently getting trained in Hawks and will be flying fighter aircraft soon.
