In a big boost to the “Make in India” initiative, Tata Boeing Aerospace has made the first delivery of the locally made AH-64 Apache combat helicopter fuselage. It was made in the Hyderabad facility.
The fuselage was transported to Boeing Mesa facility located in Arizona, USA. In the Mesa facility, the other components will be installed ranging from engines to the cockpit.
It is also seen as a breakthrough because this is the first time a Private firm delivered a helicopter fuselage ahead of schedule. The Hyderabad is 14,000-square meters which employs 350 highly skilled workers at the moment.
The AH-64 will be inducted by the Indian armed forces.
