Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat visited the Line of Control (LOC) bordering the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to review the preparation and security situation.
He was accompanied by Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen Ranbir Singh and Chinar Corps Commander Lt. Gen AK Bhatt. He visited forward posts along the Line of Control in Kupwara and Baramulla districts. Officers and jawans posted there briefed him on security and logistical preparedness.
Army Chief Bipin Rawat also lauded the efforts of the troops stationed there for their preparedness and for the efforts toward ensuring peace in the area.
Later, the Army Chief also met Kashmir Governor N. N. Vohra at the Raj Bhawan to discuss other security-related issues.
