Negotiations between India and Russia for the procurement of the S-400 Surface to Air Missile System has now finally concluded. The deal is said to be worth 400,000 crores.
Though the official announcement is yet to be made, it is expected to take place before an annual summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin in October.
For long, India was negotiating for the missile defence system as India is in urgent need of a long-range surface to air missile system.
S-400 is currently one of the most advanced long-range air defense systems in the world. It has the capability of destroying incoming hostile aircraft, missiles and even drones. It can target any hostile air threat up to 400km.
