In a bid to increase their ties, soldiers from India and Nepal will be conducting a joint military exercise in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh region and it will last for two weeks. The exercise will be kicked off on Wednesday.
The exercise is named as ‘Surya Kiran’ and is aimed at learning new tactics in counter-terror operations also cooperation. Around 300 soldiers from Nepal and 300 from India will be participating in the exercise.
“Indian and Nepal Army would be sharing their experiences gained during the conduct of various counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations,” per an Army statement.
India and Nepal share a very old relationship and both nations are facing red terrorism and so its very important the new tactics are learned.
