In recent times, India has hit the mark of 60% in terms of military hardware manufacturing. The increase happened in the last three years with the introduction of the “Make In India” program.
The information was shared by Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) chairman S. Christopher during a function where he also handed over the 1,000th integrated propulsion airframe system hardware of the Akash missile.
The “Make in India” initiative is also booming and helping the local defence manufacturing companies to show their potential as well. In recent times, many indigenous types of equipment were manufactured: Akash missile, Brahmos, Pinaka and some others examples of such.
