The Indian Army is now all set to procure Gurkha 4×4 strike vehicles. The vehicles will be supplied by the Pune-based Force Motors. The company recently won the tender for the supply of Force Gurkha 4×4.
The vehicle is very rugged and can be operated in the scorching heat of Rajasthan or in the cold region of Ladhak. The vehicle is fully indigenous and was developed as part of the “Make in India” initiative.
“We are very happy that the Indian Army has reposed trust in the fully indigenous Light Strike Vehicle developed by our research and development team. This is a small but significant step in creating fully indigenous specialist vehicles for the Armed Forces – a truly ‘Make in India’ initiative”- Force Motors spokesperson.
Force Gurkha 4×4 is a proven platform which saw successful trials in 50 degree Celsius temperatures of Rajasthan and in -30 degrees Celsius in the Himalayan mountains.
