In a move to increase its ties with the southeast Asian country, India has decided to increase its military ties with Singapore. Both countries agreed to increase ties, mainly in the maritime area.
Recently Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also held a meeting with Singapore’s Permanent Secretary of Defence Chan Yang Kit where several key issues relating to the military were discussed. Also, both the countries are moving ahead to implement an agreement to deepen bilateral maritime security cooperation and also to mutually use each others naval bases during transits.
The relation between both nations has always remained very good and India provides great support to the Singaporean Airforce in terms of providing the base like Kalaikunda for training purposes.
