In a big advancement towards indigenisation, the world fastest supersonic cruise missile Brahmos will be achieving 76% localisation in just 6 months.
“As of today, 65 percent of the value (in BrahMos) is created in India. We started with a very low 10-12 percent indigenisation and today we have reached 65 percent. In another six months, we would be close to 75 percent,” BrahMos Aerospace managing director and CEO Sudhir Mishra said.
Recently, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) also developed the prototype Quad launcher for the Brahmos. It is designed to fire supersonic cruise missiles in an inclined configuration on board naval vessels. Such types of launchers will provide more firepower than compared to the vertical launch canister system.
