With pace, the Indian Army has gunned down nearly 56 terrorists in just the last 5 months in Kashmir. The hunting down also includes some top commanders of militant outfits.
The Army, over the last few months has also deployed more troops in the sensitive zones to keep the Pakistan proxies away. Militant outfits like Hizbul Mujahideen, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba have suffered a huge setback as their top leaders were gunned down in just the last few months. In March, 13 militants were killed all alone in a single day.
Last year, the Army gunned down more than 200 terrorists in Kashmir, but the surge in people joining the militants and stone pelting in the encounter area is still a matter of concern.
