As the Indian Air Force is all set to test its preparedness in the upcoming “Exercise Gaganshakti 2018”, the most notable thing will be the Tejas “Light Combat Aircraft” which will be participating in a big exercise for the first time after its induction. The Tejas will be deployed near the Pakistan border in an offensive role.
Tejas is a light combat aircraft developed by HAL and inducted into the Airforce in 2016. The No-45 Squadron also known as “The Flying Daggers” is the first Tejas squadron of the IAF.
The exercise will commence starting April 8 and will be a pan-Indian level exercise which will include almost the whole Air Force and various assets including aircraft, helicopters and ground assets. It will take place in the state of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, which is along the border of Pakistan.
