In a show of power, the Indian Air Force conducted a massive drill in the North East as part of the ongoing Gaganshakti Exercise. The Air Force carried out a bombing exercise near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border which involved Su30mki from the Chabua Airbase and Mi-17V5.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaram, along with Air Force Chief B.S Dhanao, also visited the Chabua Airbase in Assam and then to the advanced landing ground (ALG) at Pasighat (in Arunachal Pradesh).
“The exercise has shown that we are capable of overpowering our enemies. India’s pride has increased through this exercise. Our air warriors have demonstrated their ability, precision and readiness,” the defence Minister said.
The exercise was the second phase of “Ex-Gaganshakti 2018″.” The first phase was conducted in the western sector and was the biggest IAF exercise to date which involved almost all the squadrons.
