On April 11, India kicked off its biggest military expo where various firms showcase their defence equipment. The four day long expo will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“For the first time, India will be showcasing its defence export potential at @DefExpoIndia.” said Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The opening ceremony included a flypast of aircraft manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (Under License and Indigenous made Aircraft like Tejas, HTT trainer, Hawk-i, Su30mki, Jaguar, Mirage).
Delegates from 47 countries, which include members from the U.S., the U.K., Russia, Afghanistan, Sweden, Finland, Italy, Madagascar, Myanmar, Nepal, Portugal, Seychelles and Vietnam.
This time the “Defence Expo 2018” is based on the “Make in India” theme which was proposed by Prime Minister Modi.
