The state-owned Defence Research and Development Organization successfully test fired the Brahmos supersonic cruise missile.
The missile was test-fired at Pokhran test range in Rajasthan.
“Formidable Supersonic Cruise Missile BrahMos was successfully flight tested at 8.42 AM today at Pokhran test range, Rajasthan. The precision strike weapon with Indian-made seeker flew in its designated trajectory and hit the target with pinpoint accuracy,” said Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
This is the second test of the missile in the last month and the second test with an indigenous seeker which is solely made in India.
Last year, the airborne version of the Brahmos missile was also tested and it went off successfully.
