On Thursday, the indigenous NAG Anti-Tank Guided Missile was successfully test fired. The flight test was conducted in the Desert of Rajasthan against two tank targets. The missile meets all the parameters and it was a back-to-back success.
“With the successful test flights, the technologies pertaining to ATGM to engage targets in different conditions have been established”- Dr G Satheesh Reddy, Director General (Missiles and Strategic Systems).
The missile hit the two tank targets precisely in the blink of an eye. This trial also brings it inches closer to mass production. The NAG is equipped with an advanced passive homing guidance system and possesses high single-shot kill probability.
The NAG is developed by Defense Research and Development Organization and is capable of hitting any armored types of targets with a maximum range of 4km.
