For the world, India may be a nation where female roles are less, but the truth is different when it comes to serving the nation. The Indian Air Force at present has the highest number of female pilots in the world. Not only in the Indian Air Force, but in commercial aviation, the number of female pilots is more than any other country.
Recently, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said that India recently recorded the maximum numbers of female pilots in the world.
“India is the country with the maximum number of women pilots in the world, be it in Air India or Indian Air Force. This is a testimony of the contribution made by women to the aviation sector and also by the country to their careers”, Sinha said.
Just recently, flying officer Avani Chaturvedi created history by becoming the first IAF women fighter pilot to fly solo in a Mig-21 Bison aircraft. At the end of this year, India will have five total female fighter pilots.
