In a big strategic advantage, India signed the logistic military pact with France. The pact will allow both nations to use each others military facilities like naval ports for docking vessels. The pact is also termed as “Golden Step”.
“The agreement is symbolic of the strategic depth and maturity reached in India-France defence ties,” a joint statement said.
The agreement came at a crucial time when India is looking to increase its presence in many areas. French President Emmanuel Macron is on an official visit to India to discuss a wide range of issues which mainly includes the military.
“Our defence cooperation is very strong and we consider France among the most trusted defence partners,” Prime Minister Modi said.
