GSL supplies second offshore patrol vessel to Sri Lanka

The Goa Shipyard Limited which is a state-owned firm, has delivered a second offshore patrol vessel to the Sri Lankan Navy. The advanced offshore patrol vessel was delivered 25 days ahead of the schedule which reflects the boost in the production sector.

The handing over ceremony was held this month at Vaddem, Vasco da Gama and the event was attended by Chitranganee Wagiswara, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka; Rear Admiral N B J Rosayro, Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral (Rtd) Shekhar Mital, Chairman and Managing Director of GSL and some others senior officials of Sri Lankan Navy, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard.

The vessel is credited to be the largest and most advanced vessel in the Sri Lankan Navy which is equipped with small guns, heavy guns and state of the art radars and equipment.
