Focusing on two-front war, Indian Navy starts naval war exercise
In a bid to gear up its fighting capabilities in an event of a two-front war, the Indian Navy has commenced its large war game exercise involving the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard.
The war games will include the replication of actual war scenarios where the Navy will have to perform a series of simulated operations. The exercise is also aimed at increasing the fast deployment of naval assets.
“The focus has been on realistic scenarios likely to manifest in the future including terrorist attacks from the sea on critical infrastructure and populated areas, defense of the country’s offshore oil resources and security of its huge trade through sea routes,” an official said.
Such simulated war games are much needed as the dynamics of war are changing day by day.
