Amidst the tension at the Indo-China Border, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be visiting China by months end. The visit is seen as a move to increase the ties between both nations.
The visit is mainly aimed at developing a ‘forward-looking approach’ between both nations. It will include series engagements and talks. This visit is taking place after almost two years when in 2016 ,Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar visited China.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting may also take place which was planned in March.
Lots of expectations are made from the trip amidst both countries troops having locked horns in LAC. The visit will help in building confidence and enhancing friendly exchanges between the military’s of the two sides .
