New bunkers for Border Security Force and ITBP

February 01, 2018

The Indian government has sanctioned Rs 370 crore for the construction of bunkers along India-Pakistan and India-China borderlines. The bunkers will be constructed for Border Security Force (BSF) and Ind-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

The bunkers will be highly advanced and will be constructed with highly special climate-controlled materials. The amount sanctioned will also be employed for fortifying BSF bunkers and also to procure new snow scooters for the ITBP who guard the India-China border along the Line of Actual Control.

BSF is responsible for guarding the 2,526.86 km long India-Pakistan border and also 4096.7 km of the Indo-Bangladesh border. Whereas the ITBP is responsible for the guarding of 3,488 KM long India-China border also known as Line of Actual Control. Both the forces come under Home Ministry and in recent time both the forces are dealing with the aggression of Pakistan and China though they dealt with the situation very nicely.
