French Air Force Chief flies in Tejas aircraft


After the USAF Chief flew in the Teas aircraft, this time French Air Force Chief General Andre Lanata flew in Tejas from Jodhpur on Wednesday. He flew in the trainer variant of Light Combat Aircraft Tejas in the rear seat which was piloted by Air Vice Marshal AP Singh of NFTC.

During the visit of the French Air Force Chief in Jodhpur Air Force Station, he was made familiar with aircraft like the Su30mki and Mig-27 which the Air Force station operates. The base is strategically located in Rajasthan in the western sector where he was briefed by the commanding officer of the Station Group Captain Rajesh Joshi. The chief was accompanied by his wife.

Tejas is a Light Combat Aircraft manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautical Limited. It was inducted into the Air Force in 2016. It is to be noted that France helped HAL in the initial phase of Tejas development which is mainly in wing design.
