India and Vietnam to conduct joint military exercise

In a bid to increase ties, the army from India and Vietnam will conduct a joint Army exercise. The exercise will be the first ever joint Army exercise between the nations.

The exercise will be commenced from January 29 to February 03 at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Nearly 15 officers from both the Indian and Vietnamese Army will be taking part in the exercise. The exercise is aimed to train Vietnamese Army officers in carrying out United Nations Peace Keeping Operations as India is contributing the most and with huge experience.

The exercise will also work as a platform for Vietnam People’s Army in learning new tactics and procedures. India will also receive huge benefits from the exercise.

In recent years, India is getting very close to ASEAN nations as part of its Act-East policies.
