Indian Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visits onboard India’s largest warship INS Vikramaditya aircraft carrier to witness the might of the Indian Navy.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba and Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Western Command Vice Admiral Girish Luthra were also present to witness the capabilities of the Indian Navy.
The Indian Navy demonstrated its capabilities of flight operations from the aircraft carrier and also heliborne operations. INS Kolkata, which is an indigenous and advanced destroyer, also demonstrated its capabilities.
The Defense Minister spent the night at sea onboard INS Vikramaditya and witnessed the night operations of Mig29k from the carrier.
“Having witnessed first-hand the prowess of the Western Fleet, I am confident that the Indian Navy is fully capable of defending the nation against any form of threat.” the Defense Minister said in a statement.
