Two NDFB militants gunned down in Assam


Dealing with the insurgent group, security forces gunned down two cadres of National Democratic Front of Bodoland in Assam. After receiving specific inputs, security forces started the operation near the Assam-Meghalaya border and killed the two cadres in the shootout. A kidnapped person from Umrangso was also rescued.

The operation was conducted by a joint team of 43 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector Assam Rifles, the Assam Police and the Meghalaya Police.

The cadres were identified as Prasenjit Mushahary and Sobin Boro of the NDFB. Both the cadres were involved in the kidnapping of Mahendra Rai, Manager of Pyrdung Coal Quarry on December 4. Later on, he was rescued by the security forces.

NDFB is an insurgent group which is most active in the four districts namely Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri of BTAD (Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Council) of Assam.
