In a big success, security forces on Thursday gunned down five militants in two separate encounters in the districts of Budgam and Baramulla of Kashmir.
Four militants belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed militants were killed in Budgam’s Futlipora area, while one Pakistani National Lashkar-e-Taiba member was killed in Baramulla’s Sopore.
The encounters started after forces received specific inputs about the militants’ hideouts. Acting upon that intelligence, the forces cordoned off the area and started the operations in which the militants were gunned down.
During the encounter, security personnel and 8 civilians were also injured who were later admitted to the hospital.
As usual during the encounter, clashes also started between the civilians and forces who were trying to help the terrorists to flee off from the area but the Army handled it very well and achieved the desired success.
So far this year, more than 200 terrorists were killed in Kashmir by security forces.
