5 Naxalitis gunned down in Telangana


In a big success, the paramilitary forces have gunned down five left-wing Maoists also known as “Naxalites ” in an encounter in Telangana. The encounter happened in the Tekulapally forest area of Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana on Thursday morning.

As per reports, the Naxalites were part of the newly formed CPI-ML (ND) Chandra Pullareddy Baata (CP-Baata) group which is a Naxal group.

The encounter was conducted by a special search party which exchanged gunfire with the Naxals during search operations. Five militants were gunned down on the spot. Police are expecting that there may be more casualties from the other side but they have yet to release a full report. No security personnel were injured in the gun battle.

In the last few years there has been a decline in Naxal attacks while many Naxalites have surrendered.
