India to train Bangladeshi forces in anti-terror ops

November 16, 2017

In a bid to increase its ties with Bangladesh, India has now decided to train Bangladesh forces in combating terrorism. The Army will train Bangladesh forces in counter-terror and insurgency operations.

The training will aim at carrying out operations against terrorists and insurgents on the lines of tactics used by the Indian Army in anti-terror ops in Kashmir and in the northeast.

The rise of Islamic fundamentalism in Bangladesh is a matter of concern for Bangladesh as well as for its neighbor, India. In recent years, Bangladesh witnessed some deadly attacks causing huge damage. The jihadi fundamentalists are also trying to enter India through bordering areas of Assam and Bangladesh.

So keeping in view, India and Bangladesh both agreed on the joint exercise and training. This will also help in increasing ties.
