India-US sign logistics sharing pact
In a major breakthrough, India and the US silently signed a military logistics sharing pact. The pact will enable India to access to supplies across the world, while at the same time, the pact will give the US access to replenishing planes or ships in India.
The last Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) faced some delays due to bureaucratic red tape but now the issue is sorted out.
Overview of Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement:
1.Logistics support, supplies, and services which will include food, water, billeting, transportation, petroleum, oils, lubricants, clothing, communication services, medical services, calibration services, training services, spare parts and components, repair and maintenance services, storage services.
2. Reciprocal logistics support during port visits, joint exercise.
3.Provision of logistics support, supplies and services from one party to the other.
In recent years, the relationship between both nations have grown in every aspect, especially in the military.
