47 Armored Regiment gets ‘Presidents Standard’
The Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, on behalf of President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, presented the ‘President’s Standard’ to the 47th Armored Regiment of the Indian Army at Sunjuwan Military Station, Jammu.
The President Award is given to a unit for its heroism and epitomizes the history, undaunting spirit and acts of valor forged in sweat and blood of the regiment. It serves to inspire men, kindle the hopes of the future and above all strengthens the bond of allegiance towards the regiment. It also works as a morale booster for the unit and reflects their glorious history.
The Chief of Army Staff also released the “Special First Day Cover” and a special mounted parade by T-72 tanks were also showcased.
The event was attended by Lieutenant General DR Soni, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ARTRAC, Lieutenant General Surinder Singh General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command and Lieutenant General D Anbu, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command.
