The Indian Army gunned down two militants in an encounter in Sopore township of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday. After receiving specific information about the terrorists, a joint operation was launched in which the area was cordoned off and the search operation was started.
The terrorists opened fire on the forces as they failed to escape and in retaliation, the militants were gunned down. However, their identity has still not been revealed.
“As the cordon was tightened, the militants started firing triggering the encounter,” a police officer said.
