Longest surviving Pakistan-born terrorist killed in Kashmir
In a big blow to Pakistan proxies, the Indian Army gunned down the longest surviving Pakistan-born terrorist while trying to breach the LOC.
Also known as the “mobile tower terrorist,” Sayeed Salahudeen was trying to infiltrate from Lachipora in Uri sector near LOC, but was caught and later gunned down in the gun battle. He was coming back from Pakistan to take over the command of Hizbul Mujahideen as most of the senior ranked terrorists were killed in encounters over the last few months by the Army.
As per reports, he was employed to overhaul the terror organization operating in Kashmir, but before that, he was commanding Lashkar-e-Islam, a breakaway faction of the Hizbul Mujahideen. He was involved in the murder of many people and was an IED expert involved in a number of ambushes killing innocent people.
In the last few months, the Army broke the back of the militancy in Kashmir. As far as 200 militants were killed since January 2016.
