In a successful operation, security forces on Saturday gunned down three deadly Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in Sopore town of Baramulla district in Kashmir.
As per information from the Jammu and Kashmir police, a joint operation was conducted by 179 battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 52 RR and SOG Sopore in Amargarh at approximately 1 am, which is 3 km south of Sopore. Initial contact took place at 0415 hours and three terrorists were neutralized by around 5.20 am.
The terrorists were identified as Javid Ahmad Dar of Khanpora in Baramullah (C category terrorist) and Abid Hamid Mir, a native of Hajin in Bandipore (A category terrorist). The third terrorist is yet to be identified.
